  • Drop-In Center
The Drop-In Program is the foundation of Youth Center, Inc. In the past during lean times it was the only program we offered.
The Drop-In Program is located at 20 East Street on the second floor of the Adams Community Center that has a state-of-the art computer lab, TV/VCR/DVD lounge/meeting area, A room with pool, ping pong and air-hockey tables, video and board game area, a small lending library and a “quiet” room with a table for homework help or meeting area.
The Drop-In Program provides a safe environment where youth can build developmental assets such as positive adult role models, peaceful conflict resolution, sense of purpose, values, commitment to learning and social skills. The general purpose of the Drop-In Program is a place where youth can acquire the attitudes, competencies, values, and social connections that will help carry them forward to successful adulthood.
Youth Center, Inc. believes that it is important for youth to feel like they are being noticed and cared about. For some of the youth that come to the Drop-In Program we are the “home” that the bus drops them off at. And they will tell you “I call the YC my home”. The Drop-In Program is open Monday through Friday 2:00 to 6:00pm during the school year. Youth from age eight to nineteen come to the program- most of the time we have the older youth who come in the evening, and the younger youth after school.
